As they informed in the management of the governmental information, they received from repatriates for about 40 applications with the request for granting habitation. The president of Abkhazia Sergey Bagapsh held a meeting with heads of institutions of local government and informed that in connection with finishing of the inventory of available housing in the country, they should consider needs of the State Committee on repatriation for repatriates’ accommodation.
\"We cannot push away our brothers. The state is obliged to render them al possible help, and each head who rejects assistance to repatriates, will be responsible\", - the president told. He instructed heads of areas in a week term to eliminate incorrectnesses of results of the inventory of available housing and to coordinate actions with the State Committee on repatriation.
Prime minister Alexander Ankvab at the sitting told that the analysis of the data on the inventory of habitation \"suggests that or the work was executed badly, or in the republic there is already no not registered habitation\".
Note: in Abkhazia descendants of Abkhazian muhudjirs (violently deported in Turkey during the Russian-Caucasian war of the XIX century), coming back on the historical Native land are considered as repatriates. Many of them arrived to Abkhazia during the Georgian-Abkhazian war of 1992-93.
