In an interview to REGNUM Prime Minister of Abkhazia, Alexander Ankvab, said that Abkhazia does not sell its independence and sees no connection between its policy and «a possibility to obtain another loan.»
Talking about privatization Ankvab said that Abkhazia would not sell the so-called strategic companies, objects of historic, cultural, and scientific value, for example Ritsa or Blue lakes. The prime minister ruled out sale of land, but said it would be possible to rent such objects or land. Ankvab added that the government was ready to sell abandoned resorts for a symbolic price to the people who could breathe a new life into them. He said that if the government would manage to sell the former summer residence of Joseph Stalin «Kholodnaya rechka» (Cold River) at a price of $10 millions, the money would be invested in production.
The prime minister invited potential investors to examine the situation in Abkhazia on the spot.
