Prince Ali and Princess Reem Patronized the Circassians Charity Association Commemoration of the Anniversary of the Circassians' Mourning Day

The correspondent of Al-Rai daily newspaper, in Amman, Jordan, Abdel Hakeem Al-Qaralleh reported in 24, May, 2006 that His Royal Highness Prince Ali Ibn Al-Hussein patronized, in the presence of Princess Reem Al-Ali the celebration that was organized by the Circassians Charity Association in Amman on the occasion of the anniversary of forced deportation for the Circassian Nation, and what is known to be, the Circassians' Mourning Day.


Member of Jordanian Parliament Abdel Raouf Al-Rawabdeh said that what had occurred to the Circassian People of displacement that made them suffer for long, but they managed to get out of that hardship with lessons learnt which helped them plan the future of their children. He elaborated on the fact that the Ottoman State knew the military particulars and the discipline that the Circassians adhered to, which made the Ottomans get the benefit of making them guard the Hajj Road and the Rail Road, and When Prince Abdullah (King Abdullah the First) came to Amman, the Circassians were the pioneers who joined his mission. He in turn selected his special guard from amongst them, which is still until today in their custom dressing in the Royal Court, a real symbol of a brotherhood in religion and for this country (Jordan) as one family which does not recognize any differences of origin, color or religion among it's citizens.

The Chairman of the Circassians Charity Association, Isaac Khalid Mola, mentioned the forced deportation and the memory of deportees who were taken out of the Caucasus Land to be dispersed in Diaspora.

Dr. Mohammad Khair Mamser, also in his turn remembered the historical realities and the genocide that took place against the Circassian Nation.

The former Minister of Agriculture, Mijhim Al-Khraisheh remarked the Circassian devotion towards their faith and their love to their Messenger (SAAW), and he added that this homeland is theirs as it is the homeland of the Sheriffs and the Selective of the broad Nation.

Mohammad Shueib Hamzouq, speaking for the Jordanian Friends Association of the Caucasus Circassians, clarified that Circassians and where ever they lived, commemorate this occasion to remember the grandfathers who defended the precious motherland.

Two poems were addressed during the occasion, the first entitled, "Poem's Tribute On The Occasion Of Deportation" for Mr. Suleiman Al-Meshini, and the second entitled "Circassians' Mourning" for Mr. Faisal Hebtoush.

Also Mr. Ahmad Omar T'hamoqeh spoke for the Council of Circassian Tribes, and was addressed a poem of Sorrow and Grief describing the deportees from the Caucasus who were forced to diaspora.

Two movies were shown, the first entitled "Deportation', and the second was under the title of "Istanbouli".

The anniversary celebration was ended by a prayer that was performed by Sheikh Walid Shukri Shapsough.

The reporter added that the Circassian Nation commemorate in the 21st of May of every year, the Circassians' Mourning Day.
